John Vosteen arrived in American in 1880 and came to Pender, Nebraska in 1886. John returned to Germany to bring back his bride-to-be, Beta Bokeloh. Beta's sister, Aline returned to the United States with them. John was farming and did not have time to allow for the church wedding posting bans, etc. So John and Beta were married at Wayne, Nebraska on April 6, 1888.
