Lucille Julia Hill Babcock was born to William and Marguerite Hill on October 18, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas. At the age of 96, she passed on April 7, 2022 from natural causes.
She was a talented woman with many hobbies, but above all, her family was the most important thing to her. She loved being around family whether it was traveling with her husband, Bud, (they visited all 50 states!!) or spending time with family at The Ozarks. She would organize and plan all of the fun memories that were made.

Lucille also had a competitive streak! She loved any card game, with bridge being her favorite. Lucille bowled a great game all the way up until her mid 80's! She was very active.

Working at Rosehill Gardens Nursery with her daughter Carol was her most favorite time in life. She worked there as a gardener for over 20 years.

Outside of work, you could find her gardening, knitting, quilting, or ceramics. On a good day she would be multi-tasking and having several hobbies going on at one time. Very talented. Lucille was an avid reader and visited her local library very often. To read a book a day was very easy for her to do. She did a little bit of everything and loved it all! Lucille also loved to dance and in her younger days was a member of Kansas City's version of the Rockettes (Missouri Rockets).

She had a love of life and was active all the way up through her 90's.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband; "Bud" (Lawrence W. Babcock, Sr.), daughter; Carol Mitchell, her parents; William and Marguerite, two brothers; and two sisters.

Left to cherish her memories are her two sons; Lawrence Jr. and Richard Babcock (Coleen), nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Lucille has left a legacy to carry on.

She was The Matriach.

Visitation and Service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 beginning at 1:00 pm.
