James L. Abel, age 66, of New Philadelphia passed away March 7, 2023. He was born March 19, 1956 in Dover, OH and graduated from Dover High School. He retired from Aleris International after nearly 30 years of service and also worked for an uncle at Tuscarawas Poultry out of high school. Jim loved fishing and sharing his favorite spots, he was a fan of the Cleveland teams, had a tremendous sense of humor and was an onery guy. He enjoyed meeting people and enjoyed hanging out at Marty's Coaches Corner in New Philadelphia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence E. Abel Jr.; his mother Rosemary Abel; his step mother, Sue Abel; three brothers, Greg, Jerry and Bob Abel; and a sister, Jodi Looker

Survivors include his step sister, Tami Salmen and her fiance, Tim Thompson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends, Troy, Willie, Shane and Paul "Espy".

He will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
