Lauren (Barnes) Cliff, age 66 of Dayton, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023, at Miami Valley Hospital. Lauren the daughter of USAF Lt. Col. (Ret.) Warren S. Barnes and Shirley (Lindstrom) Barnes was born April 24, 1956, in Rochester, NY.

In life Lauren was an accomplished reporter, receiving a Bachelor of Journalism degree from The Ohio State University in 1978. Throughout her career she worked at the West Milton Record, the Fairborn Daily Herald, and lastly at Supervalu in Xenia. She enjoyed reading, writing, and exploring the local state parks with her husband, Peter—especially in the Yellow Springs and Clifton area. Lauren was a loving wife, caring daughter, devoted sister, and friend to many. She will surely be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Lauren is preceded in death by her parents, USAF Lt. Col. (Ret.) Warren Barnes; Shirley Barnes; father-in-law, Gordon Cliff; mother-in-law, Maureen Cliff; brothers-in-law, Samuel Lewis; Stephen Cliff; Donald Collins; as well as some dear pets, Sophie; Chloe; and Lily-Bet. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Peter "Pete" T. Cliff; sister, Karen Barnes Lewis; brother, Keith (Traci) Barnes; brother-in-law, John Cliff (Jennifer); sister-in-law, Roseanne Cliff Collins; as well as multiple, loving nieces, nephews, family friends, and fur-baby, Buddy.

A graveside service will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Ave., Dayton, OH 45409, April 24, 2023, at 12:00 P.M.,
