Beloved husband of Sarah-Elizabeth (nee Tierney) Arno; loving father of Olivia Louise Arno; dear son of Sheryl (late John) Maher and David (Julie) Arno; caring brother of Delton (Ashley) Arno, Lydia Maher, Erikka Arno, Alyssa Arno, Abigail Maher, Nic Arno and Noah Arno; adored son-in-law of Karen Tierney and Robert (Deborah) Tierney; also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family will be present on Thursday from 2-8 PM at the (Delaware Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1132 Delaware Avenue (at West Ferry). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday from St. Joseph Cathedral, 50 Franklin Street, Buffalo at 10 AM. Friends are asked to please assemble at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or the Buffalo Animal Shelter. Please share condolences at

The Buffalo firefighter that died battling a blaze in the city's downtown area on Wednesday has been identified as 37-year-old Jason Arno, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown confirmed in a tweet on Thursday.

Arno died responding to a four-alarm fire that broke out around 10 a.m. Wednesday in a three-story building on Main Street.
Arno was a member of the Buffalo Fire Department's Engine Co. 2 for three years.
