Marvin Claude Chandler, age 85, of London, Kentucky passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
He was the son of the late William Bradley Chandler and Fannie Peters Chandler, born on July 21, 1937 in Symbol, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his father William Bradley Chandler and his mother Fannie Peters Chandler; brothers, James Chandler, Lawrence Chandler, Ray Chandler, Don Chandler, Jerry Chandler; sisters, Georgia Inman, Pauline Peters, Fern Drew, Jessie Girdler.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Georgia Chesnut Chandler of London, KY; Sisters-in-law, Kathy Chandler of Lexington, KY, Geneva Chandler of Fairfield, OH; his caregivers and home helpers, Elaine Adams, Johnny Hacker; several nieces and nephews plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Marvin was a member of Slate Hill Baptist Church. He worked 28 years at Caron Spinning and Laurel County Board of Education, and was proud to serve in the United States Army as a Big Red One.
Funeral services for Marvin Claude Chandler will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Homer Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. Military honors will be provided by the local DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, Kentucky.
