Edward "Eddie" Hughes passed into heaven's gates, March 27, 2014 at 93 years of age. He and his beloved wife, Loretta, celebrated their 66th Anniversary on the day of his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters; Lois Hicklin and Doris Levine. He leaves behind children; Patrick, Carole, Larry, Les and Karen. Nieces and nephews; Marsha, Bonnie, Carol, Susan and Charles.
 
Eddie was President and C.E.O. of Superior Woodwork Company having had a part in building The Tower of the America's, SeaWorld and several local churches. Being strong in his faith, Eddie served faithfully in the Baptist Church exceling as Deacon and Sunday School teacher for young children. After relocating to their retirement home, he continued his faithful service to our Lord anonymously at Cranes Mill Baptist Church, designing and fabricating the iconic white cross at the front entrance.
