Douglas Bartlett Dies in Hospital
Illness Fatal to Fort Valley Student
Douglas Bartlett, 17-year-old Fort Valley high school student, died in a local hospital at 9 p.m. yesterday after an illness of three weeks. Young Bartlett was born in Fort Valley and lived there all his life. He was enrolled at Fort Valley high school at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.B.(sic) {should be H. L.} Bartlett; three brothers, Green, Clyde and Clarence, and two sisters, Mrs. James Carroll and Mary Alice Bartlett, all of Fort Valley. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. (CST) today at the Baptist church in Fort Valley, with the Rev. M. D. Reed, pastor, in charge. Burial will be there. The funeral cortege will leave Hart's Mortuary at 3 p.m. (EST) today.
