MEADOWS Freda Belle Mellett, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Sep 3, 2007. Born in Louisville, KY on Nov 25, 1921 to Samuel T. and Freda J. Mellett. Survived by a loving husband of 66 years, John B. Meadows. She was a homemaker and proud mother of 6 children. Her two eldest children preceded her in death, Bob (Betty) and Ronnie (Mary Kay) Meadows. She is survived by 4 children, Janice (Bill) Wiegandt, Louisville, Glenn (Linda) Meadows, Lexington, Donna (Larry) Hatter, Raleigh, NC, and Cynthia Meadows, Lexington, nine grandchildren, Mike (Holly) Meadows, Bill (Beth) Meadows, DeAnna (Greg) Long, Dana Wiegandt, Louisville, Amy Meadows, New Haven, CT, Sarah and Clay Hatter, Raleigh, NC, Savannah and Cody Williams, Lexington and five great granddaughters. She was an active member of Gardenside Baptist Church, a dedicated Republican, member of the Fayette Co. Executive Board, alternate delegate to the 1984 Republican National Convention, was given the first Ronald Reagan Award and The Volunteer of the Year Award was named in her honor. The family thanks Dr. Carr and Dr. Gohmann for their years of loving care. Funeral services 1:30pm Thu at W. R. Milward Mortuary-Southland by Dr. John Landon and Rev. James E.
