Roscoe Jackson "RJ" Allen Jr. went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2023. He was born on May 26, 1946 at Camp LeJeune to Roscoe Jackson and Anna Mae Allen, who preceded him in death, along with his brother Chet Allen.
He is survived by wife Marilyn Allen and sister Risa Witherspoon (Jim). Children, Roscoe "Russ" Jackson Allen III (Sue); Amanda Jarrell (Greg); Jennifer Brannock (Chris); Charles Allen (Amy) along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren he loved dearly.
RJ was a graduate of Southeast Guilford High and continued his education with a Bachelor's degree from Aurora, IL College. He worked at AT&T as a Telecommunications Engineer from 1965 until 1991. Later in 1991 he joined his wife as Officer Manager at her law practice from 1991 until 2012 upon his retirement.
His passions included working on cars and watching NASCAR. He loved people and made friends everywhere he went. RJ was always generous and willing to help others anyway he could in ways big and small.
A funeral service will be held at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church, Sunday March 19, 2023, at 3:00pm. The family will greet friends and loved ones prior to the service beginning at 1:30pm. RJ will be laid to rest in the Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery following the funeral service.
