Mrs. Vickie Raines Sturgill, 29, of Newport, passed away Monday, March 3, 2008, at her home.
She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, John Thomas; sister, Wanda Louise Thomas; grandfathers, Allen Raines Jr. and Jerry Thomas; and grandmother, Marie Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Sturgill of the home, one son of the home, mother, step-father, maternal grandmother, two sisters, two brothers, mother-in-law all of Newport, two sisters-in-law both of Detroit, Michigan, one special friend of Detroit, Michigan and one special friend of Newport.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at New Beginning Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Ball officiating. Interment will be in Nazarene Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 5, 2008, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
