Sarah Ruth Raby, daughter of John and Hannah Raby, was christened at Whorlton, Yorkshire (North Riding), on 6 January 1884.
In the 1891 census, aged 7, she was living at Potto, Yorkshire, Yorkshire (North Riding), with her parents, John (40) and Hannah (35), brother John Joseph Raby (9) and sister Frances Hannah Raby (2).
In the 1901 census, Sarah Ruth Raby was employed as nurse/housemaid at Carlton Grange, in the household of John Latimer Kyle, Vicar of Carlton and Faceby. She probably cared for his two young daughters, Susan Gertrude Latimer Kyle (age 4) and Harriet Frances Mary Latimer Kyle (age 2).
According to the inscription on her headstone, she "Fell asleep in Jesus at the Vicarage March 28th 1902."
