In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 1 daughter; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Survivors include his: son: James E. Abell, Jr. of Crofton, KY; daughter Courtney McGar of Hopkinsville, KY; brothers: Maurice Abell of Hanson, KY; and David Abell of Shepherdsville, KY; sisters: Grace Kessinger of Louisville, KY; Carolyn Leslie of Shepherdsville, KY; and Alice Richard of Cecilia, KY. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
