VIRGINIA POOR MT. AUBURN DIES
Mary Virginia Poor, 69, died at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday August 2, 1983 in St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in Sutton Funeral Home, Taylorville, with visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville. Reverand Mike Grant of Mt. Auburn Christian Church will preform the service.
Mrs. Poor was born in Taylorville, daughter of Thomas and Goldie (Daniel) Lusk. She was a member of the Davis Christian Church. She was a member of the Illinois Brotherhood Ofn Electricial Workers. She was a retired telephone operator from ICTC. She married Paul Eldon Poor in 1932, they divorced, he preceded her in death on February 12, 1982.
Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Richard Wurl of Mt. Auburn and Mrs. David Nation Sr., of Taylorville; sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Coombs, Toronto, Canada; Helen Ingraham, Las Vegas, Nevada. Seven grand children and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Paul Eldon "Sandy" Poor and a grandson Alex Richard Wurl.
Pall bearers were: Billy Newberry, Bruce Anderson, Jim Riggs, John Law, David Nation Sr and Richard Wurl.
