Allen Lee Bartels, age 76, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI, surrounded by his family. Allen was born on Nov. 5, 1946. He graduated from Muscoda High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
Allen married his high school sweetheart Carol, on May 18, 1968. He was employed by Madison Gas and Electric for 37+ years.
Allen is survived by his wife, Carol (Hying) Bartels; his children, Brian (Tammy) Bartels, Laura (Tim) Baker, Karen (Chris) Kleine and Brent Bartels; grandchildren, Nathan and Nicole Bartels; Megan (fiancé, Justin), Emily (Mitch) Paap and Grace Baker; and Emma and Natalie Kleine and Cash Bartels; siblings, Diane, Charlie and Mike (Sherry) Bartels; and best friends, Steve and Maureen Kraak (whom he was scheduled to take the Badger Honor Flight with on April 8, 2023).
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Chad (March 1973); and his parents, Hazel and Wilfred Bartels.
