Born Aug. 8, 1926, in Minersvillage, he was the son of the late William P. and Georgie Grimes Boyer. He was a navy veteran of World War II and worked in vehicle maintenance for Cornwall Manor. He was a life member of Cornwall United Methodist Church and former treasurer and chief engineer of the Rexmont Fire Co. He also served on Cornwall borough council.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Edward C. husband of Linda Boyer of Quentin, Douglas A., husband of Sue Boyer of Mt. Gretna, and James F., husband of Patricia Boyer of Manheim; daughter Barbara Bennetch of Harrisburg; sister Edna, wife of John Starner of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers G. Russel Boyer and William E. Boyer and sisters May Doll and Margaret Early.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cornwall United Methodist Church, Route 419 and Alden Street, Cornwall, followed by interment in the Cornwall Cemetery. Viewing hours are from 6-8 p.m. tomorrow at the Taylor-Ruffner Funeral Home, 712 Chestnut St., Lebanon, and beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
