Hawthorne - Funeral services for James Madison Beasley (1876-1946), age 70, who died of a heart attack Saturday morning while visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Chambers, Sunday afternoon, with burial in the cemetery here, under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home of Palatka.
Mr. Beasley and his wife had gone to their daughter’s home at the Beach for a week and stay, when the fatal attack came.
The deceased was born at Hampton but had resided in Alachua County since boyhood, and for the past forty years had been a popular resident of Hawthorne. He is survived by five daughters, one son, and twelve grandchildren. (Palatka Times-Herald Obituary dtd Friday, 11 Oct 1946.)
