SZYMANSKI Helen M. Helen M. Szymanski, age 100, formerly of Parkside Blvd. and Oak Alley Ct., passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2008, in Sunset Village, Sylvania, OH. Helen was born on December 29, 1907, in Toledo to Martin and Hedwig (Raczkowiak) Filipiak. She was an employee of Champion Spark Plug for 25 years retiring in 1967. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, Helen was a longtime parishioner of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church and an active member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society. The widow of John Szymanski, who passed away on March 11, 1989, Helen is survived by her sons, Thomas (Emily) Simon of Ann Arbor, MI and Gary (Nataline) Szymanski of Clearwater, FL; sister, Dorothy Pozniak; sister-in-law, Ann Filipiak; brother-in-law, Ted Simon; and grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Paszczykowski, Pearl Waite, and Estelle Szykowny, and brother, Chester Filipiak. Friends and family may visit on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 East Alexis Rd., where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to go directly to St. Hyacinth Church, Parkside Blvd., on Monday at 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Mass for Helen will begin at 11 a.m. in church with Very Rev.
