Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mr. Weeks was a native of Johnston County and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was employed as a supervisor for Dick Weeks Construction Company for 28 years and was retired as an electrical inspector in Brunswick County. Van was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge #699, and was a member of the Scottish Rite and Oasis Shrine Temple. As a young man, Mr. Weeks had a love of sports and played baseball with a passion. Later in life, golf became a constant along with a love of his yard and flowers.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Earle Whitehurst Weeks; son, Steve Weeks of Lexington, N.C.; daughter, Sue Flynt of Winston-Salem, N.C.; sister, Susie B. Grasso of Newport Beach, Calif.; sister, Janie L. Garrett of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro.
