Born in Cortland, on Sept. 19, 1906, she was the daughter of Clarence E and Belle Winnie Barden. Raised and educated in Cortland and Homer, she married Frank C. Mallory, in Homer, on Oct. 27, 1924. Mr. Mallory died on Jan. 8, 1933. She later married Floyd W. Bender in Utica on April 5, 1942. Mr. Bender died on Feb. 18, 1981.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Bender was employed with the M&M Cleaners of Utica. She was a member of the Oneida Full Gospel Assembly.
Surviving is one daughter, Betty Jean Carson of Binghamton; seven grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sons, Leslie E. Mallory, Ernest Mallory, and Carl Mallory; one daughter, Loretta Mallory; and one grandchild, Leslie J. Carson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday (March 7) from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida, with the Rev. Jack Fucci, officiating.
Spring interment will be made in Stockbridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, prior to the funeral service.
