Mrs. Stewart, born Sept. 12, 1917, in Graham, was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Beulah Johnson Ward. She had lived in LaGrange more than 60 years and retired as an inspector with Playtex International. She also worked at the Hillside Plant of Callaway Mills Co., the Troup County school system in the lunchroom at Troup High School and was a sitter with the Home Health Department at West Georgia Medical Center. She attended Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Allen Reid and Jeannette Stewart of Fayetteville, Ga.; two grandchildren; a brother, Celvin Ward of Graham; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, in the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with the Rev. Chris Davis officiating. Burial was in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
