Waldon L. Ashbrook Sr., 72, of Cisco died Saturday, June 24, 1989 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held June 27 at Mackey Wright Funeral Home, Monticello with burial in Croninger Cemetery, Cisco.
Mr. Ashbrook was born August 17, 1916 at Russell Springs KY, s/o Ulysses S. and Eva Scales Ashbrook. He married Mary M. Shingleton on October 28, 1940 at Nutter Fort WVA. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Waldon Jr. of Cisco; a daughter, Mary Haynes of Lake Fork; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers: Elmer of New Whiteland IN; Barry of Elizabethtown KY; and John of Russell Springs KY; and three sisters: Eva Tucker and Florie Greider both of Russell Springs; and Virginia Sullivan of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother and a sister.
Mr. Ashbrook was a retired heavy-equipment operator. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
