"Allinson, Daniel W. - died November 22, 1896. Daniel was 56 when he died of complications from stomach and throat trouble. Born on September 7,1840, Mr. Allinson was in his early 20's when he served with the Union Army in the 115th Illinois Infantry. In Ojai, he was census marshal for the Nordhoff School District. The Allinson's lived about a mile east of Nordhoff.
A member of the Congregational Church, Mr. Allinson was involved in the Christian Endeavor Society. When he died, he left a wife and four children: Eva, Clara (who died the following June), Bert and Ernest (who was a schoolteacher in South Dakota).
