Booneville - Alex Gabbard Bishop, 63, died at 7:15 a.m. at his home after an apparent heart attack. A native of Owsley County, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Polly Bishop; two sons, Carson and Daniel Bishop, Booneville; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Hacker, Cincinnati; Mrs. Bessie Hacker and Mrs. Alpha Steele, Florence; five brothers, John and George Bishop, Oneida; Virgil and Orval Bishop, Morris Mills, Ind., and Clay Bishop, Hamilton, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Baker, Tyner; Mrs. Pinnie Taylor, Cincinnati, and Mrs. Rosa Johnson, South Lebanon, Ohio, and 19 grandchildren.
The body will be at the residence after 3 p.m. today.
