Roger (Doc) Wayne McNees 78, passed away March 27, 2023 in Bryan, Texas. A graveside service will be held at Tryon Cemetery in Bryan on April 1, 2023 at 11:00. He was born on May 26, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas to Rufus George & Matilda (Tillie) McNees.

Roger attended St. Mary's University where he earned a BBA in Accounting in 1966 and MA in Economics in 1968. He then moved to College Station where he attended Texas A&M University. There he earned an MBA in Accounting in 1971 and his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering in 1976. Roger enjoyed his time at A&M as a professor in the Civil Engineering Department. Roger also worked as an Engineer Research Associate, Assistant Research Specialist for the Texas Transportation Institute and a Program Manager for the Rural Technical Assistance Program at Texas Engineering Extension Service. For many years, starting in 1991 he worked as a Training Specialist in the Transportation Training Division at the Texas Engineering Extension Service.

This is where he met his wife of 28 years, Barbara Ann Ryan. They enjoyed many years of traveling, their favorite trip being to France, they also loved traveling in their RV with their RV club and living at Lake Limestone. He was an avid Texas A&M football fan and rarely missed a home game. Roger was passionate for all things maroon & white. Of all his accomplishments, Roger was most proud of his 21 year service in the United States Army which he retired in 2004 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was also a member of the American Legion

Preceded in death, by his parents, Rufus G. and Matilda McNees. First wife, Diane Willenbrock McNees.

Survivors include his beloved wife Barbara McNees, stepson Rick Britten and wife Dina, Stepdaughter D'Anne Johnson and husband Buddy. Grandchildren Kailey & Hunter Cook, Hunter Britten & Dylan Britten. Great Grandson Collin Cook. Brother Robert (Bob) McNees and wife Barbara of Stafford. Nephew Chris McNees and his wife Shannon of Tomball, Niece Carmen (Victoria) Bare and husband Clay of Houston. Great nieces Danika McNees and Carrissa Wolfe.
