Albertha Marie Dettling of El Campo, Texas passed away March 29, 2023 at the age of 94. After fifty-six years she is reunited with her husband Mike in Heaven. She was born on July 8, 1928 to the late Frank J and Anna Schramm Staff Erdelt.

She met Mike Dettling and they were married on June 17, 1947 in Nada, Texas. Albertha and Mike were married nineteen years until his passing in March 1967.

In her early years she worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Along with her husband they owned and operated Dettling Maintainer Service. After Mike's passing Albertha maintained ownership of the business and her son Chris was the operator. She worked for Randall's for many years as the manager of the Floral Department. After her retirement with Randall's she worked for The Flower Shoppe in Wharton.

She was a life-long member of St. Philip Catholic Church, St. Philip Choir and Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #1374.

Albertha was gifted with many talents, baking wedding cakes, singing soloist for many local weddings, seamstress but her greatest passion was creating beautiful floral arrangements. There was nothing more than she loved than being with her family and Christmas was her favorite time. She was grateful for everything she had. She would always say "I am the most blessed mother of all".

She is survived by her sister-in-law Rose Staff of Nada; daughters, Linda Rees of San Antonio, Catherine Vacek and husband Mike of Austin, Sherry Hoffman and husband Darby of Nada; sons, Chris Dettling and wife Susan of El Campo, Carl Dettling of El Campo, Russell Dettling and wife Barbara of El Campo; twelve grandchildren, John Rees III and fiancée Izabella Niezborala, Ryan Vacek and wife Heather, Lauren Rees and husband Tim Lambert, Amy Perez and wife Vanessa, Craig Rees, Curtis Vacek and wife Valerie, Jenna Cogdell and husband Cooper, Neal Dettling and wife Brittany, Katie Hoffman and fiancée Brent Gold, Jordan Dettling, Matt Hoffman and wife Kadee, and Zachery Dettling; ten great-grandchildren; Julia and Kristian Juarez, Brady, Maddy and Fletcher Vacek, Ellie and Owen Lewis, Cole and Miles Cogdell, June Birdie Vacek; soon to arrive great-grandson, Cameron Alan Hoffman.
