Anthony Lee Alexander, April 25, 1948-March 24, 2023

Anthony Lee Alexander, age 74, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday March 24, 2023. Anthony was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 25, 1948, to Lola Francis Alexander and Alfred Lando Alexander. Growing up Anthony and his family moved around between Arizona, Colorado, and California. They finally settled down in Northern California in his early teens.

Anthony graduated from Placer High School in Auburn, California in 1966. In 1968 he joined the Air Force as a vehicle mechanic and proudly served for 20 years. Anthony served in Vietnam from 1969-1970. This is something that he was very proud of. Over his military career he served in various other places around the world. He retired as a Master Sergeant in August 1988.

While at his first duty station in Charleston, South Carolina, he met and married his sweetheart Carol Elaine Gunnells. During the first 9 years of marriage, they welcomed 4 children to grow their family. Today they also have 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In February, they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife Carol, son Anthony Alexander, Jr. (Maryann), daughter Christina Wiggins (Linward), daughter Melanie Alexander, and son Robert Alexander (Carolyn); Grandchildren Joshua Wiggins, Michael Alexander (Ashley), Tyler Wiggins (Sierra), Amber Wiggins, Victoria Alexander, Timothy Wiggins (Antonia), Spencer Alexander, Zora Alexander, Brennan Alexander, and Addison Alexander; Great-Grandchildren Blake Alexander, Leo Wiggins, Alexis Wright, Marietta Fisher, and Guinevere Wiggins; brother Patrick Alexander.

Anthony is preceded in death by his parents Lola Hoffman and Alfred Alexander, brothers Bill Hart and Victor Alexander.

A visitation will be held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home from 6-8PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

A celebration of life service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at 11:00AM, Thursday, March 30, 2023.

A procession will lead to Carolina Memorial Gardens to lay Mr. Alexander to rest; he will be honored with Air Force military honors.
