MOS: 11B40 Infantryman
LC arrived in Vietnam 9 October 1965 and was assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, USARV. SFC Blake died as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds to the body from a hostile explosive device.
LC served his country for 16 years.
Survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Blake and his 3 sons; Jimenez, Michael G and Jerry and his 3 daughters; Patricia C, Sharon A and Anita and his mother; Lovie Holmes Blake, his 2 brothers;
Robert Earl and George and his 3 sisters; Nellie Mae, Merlene and Gertrude, all of Hemphill, Texas.
Buried in the Macedonia Cemetery, behind the Macedonia Baptist Church, Hemphill, Texas.
