Dotson Roy Guinn, 83, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2023.

Mr. Guinn, was born in Stewart County, Tennessee on November 2, 1939 to the late Roy H. Guinn and Margaret Taylor Guinn. Mr. Guinn was also preceded in death by his sister, Sadie Guinn Anderson.

After graduating from Clarksville High School in 1957, Dotson began his career in banking at the Northern Bank of Tennessee where he would work and cultivate many lifelong friendships over the next 35 years. During his banking career, Dotson was a proponent of continuing education, graduating from the American Institute of Banking and the graduate school of Banking at Louisiana State University. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. After retiring from banking, Mr. Guinn owned and operated All American Storage, was part owner of Clarksville Ready Mix, Clarksville Disposal, The River Club Golf and Learning Center, The Villages at the River Club and numerous commercial real estate properties. Mr. Guinn was a faithful member of the Breakfast Club at Paul and Jackie's.

During his career, Mr. Guinn served as Chairman of the Austin Peay State University Foundation, Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Clarksville Montgomery County Industrial Development Board. Mr. Guinn was a recipient of the Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award, The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce Spark Plug Award, Spoke Award, Outstanding Jaycee, Jaycee of the Year, Distinguished Service Award and a Distinguished Service Award from the Clarksville Montgomery County Industrial Development Board. In 2016, Mr. Guinn was inducted into the Tennessee Bankers Association "Leaders of Banking Excellence". Dotson felt like one of his greatest accomplishments was mentoring many of today's successful bankers.

Mr. Guinn is survived by his beloved children, son Greg Guinn (Linda), daughters Dana Knott (Trent), and Dawn Conquest (Doug), grandchildren, Caitlin Clinard (Will), Luci Armitstead (Jon), Cleve Guinn (Lesette), Chase Knott (Holly), Bella Conquest, Gwyneth Conquest and William Conquest, great grandchildren, Colin Clinard, Anneliese Clinard, Henry Clinard, Annie Margaret Armitstead, John Amos Armitstead, Amelia Guinn, Palmer Guinn, Sutton Guinn, and Hank Knott. Mr. Guinn is also survived by his former wives Shirley Guinn and Peggy Guinn.

Pallbearers are Cleve Guinn, Chase Knott, William Conquest, Will Clinard, Jon Armitstead, Todd Greene and David Greene.

Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Lee, Billy Lee, Wendell Sanders, George Watson, Mark Olson, Jeff Purvis, Jim Schacht, Bill Farmer, Jimmy Turner, Brad Suiter, the Northern Bank Family, the Clarksville High School Class of 1957 and the wonderful caregivers and staff from First Light Home Care.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Freeman, Dr. Ronnie Raines and Jimmy Turner Officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be Monday, April 3, 2023 at Smith Cemetery in Big Rock, TN immediately following the service.

A gathering will take place to honor Mr. Guinn's life at 6:00 p.m. on April 3, 2023 at the City Forum.
