Funeral services for George H. Boerjan, 94, of St. Ansgar, were held
Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at the St. Ansgar Catholic Church, St. Ansgar
with the Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Burial was in the St. Ansgar
Cemetery, St. Ansgar, Iowa. George died Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Good Samaritan
Center, St. Ansgar.

George H. Boerjan was born January 1, 1910 in Plymouth, Iowa, to August and
Mary (Baker) Boerjan. He married Mary Maertens in 1932, enjoying 66 years
of marriage before her death in 1998. He had lived in the nursing home
since 1995.

George was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary; brothers Frank,
Ben and Henry, two sisters Ida and Minnie, and one grandson, Michael
Chance.

George is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Stanton and her husband Duane
of New Hampton; and Donna Chance and her husband Robert of Colona, Illinois.
Five grandchildren, Monty Stanton, Cynthia (Darrell) Knecht, Jim Stanton,
Chuck Stanton, and Pam (Steve) Remark. Great grandchildren Brooke and
Seth Stanton, Amber and Logan Knecht, Rylie and Levi Stanton, and
Rebecca Riha; one great-great grandson Austin Merideth; one brother
John (Marie) Boerjan of St. Ansgar; and sister-in-law Eleanor Boerjan
of St. Ansgar.
