John Joseph Fretwell IV, age 29, of Marchbanks Avenue, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008. Born on December 16, 1978 in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of Bobby and Carol Binkney Fretwell. Mr. Fretwell was a graduate of T. L. Hanna High School where he was an active leader of the N.J.R.O.T.C. For the past seven years, he was employed by the Detention Centers of the City of Anderson and Anderson County. Mr. Fretwell was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Anderson. Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Carol Fretwell of Anderson; grandmothers: Mae B. Fretwell of Anderson, SC and Mary Binkney of Forest Park, GA; sisters: Christy Fretwell Moore and her husband, Gus Moore, and their children, Victor and Nate Moore, nephews of Mr. Fretwell, all of Savannah, GA and Jenny Fretwell Marchbanks and her husband, Jordan Marchbanks of Anderson,SC. Mr. Fretwell was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Raymond Fretwell, Jr. and Harold A. Binkney. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 10, 2008 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Dr. Dennis R. Tedder. Interment will follow in Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Monday, March 10, 2008 at The McDougald Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 706 Grove Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29605 or to the Medical Mission of the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 Calhoun Street, Anderson, South Carolina 29624.
