CHAUVIN CARMELIA M. (BIG PIECE) (CARM) 78, born November 4, 1923 in New Orleans, LA. Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Good Friday, March 29, 2002. A resident of Hayward for 28 years. She graduated from McDonugh #35 in 1940 in New Orleans and from Straight Business School in 1942. During WWII, she was a welder at the Naval Air Station in Alameda. She retired in 1988 after 30 years from the Naval Supply Center in Oakland. She was a faithful member for 28 years of St. Clement Catholic Church in Hayward, where she also volunteered at their Senior Center for 10 years, making everyone feel welcome with her beautiful smile. She also belonged to their Forever Young Seniors. She helped out at the church festivals until her health started to fail. Carm was a die-hard Raider Fan and season ticket holder with the A's for years. She loved spending time with her family. She was a great cook. She also got a lot of enjoyment taking rides with Bunny, especially to Yosemite. Being from New Orleans, she knew how to have fun and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her parents Laura &Louis Rouzan; sisters, Eunice Rouzan, Ruby Miller, Blanche Williams; brothers, Louis & Gilbert Rouzan. She is survived by her identical twin sister Cornelia Duvernay; her brother, Harold Rouzan; her son Warren Chauvin &his wife Marguerite; her daughters Cecilia Wheat, Diane Savoy &her husband, Melvin. Her "Best forever friend", Bunny Aman of 46 years. Grandchildren, Elizabeth Bagby, Gene Bagby &his wife, Maliaka, Allen &Lisa Chauvin. Great-grandmother "G.G." to Michanne, Aliah, Christopher, Khadijah, Tia &Jaylen. All whom brought her great joy. She will also be greatly missed by her many nieces &nephews and a host of friends. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, April 3, 2002 from 5:30PM to 8:30PM in the Mission Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, 94544, where a vigil service will be held at 6:30PM. A funeral mass will be offered at 10:00AM, Thursday, April 4, 2002 at St. Clement Catholic Church, 738 Calhoun St. at Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544. Interment will follow in Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, Hayward, CA 94544.
