Mrs. Ada M. Knox, a member of an old and prominent Quincy family and the wife of Dr. Thomas B. Knox, a member of the medical staff at the Soldier's Home, died in Hill Memorial Hospital, at the home, Wednesday morning at 9:27 o'clock. News of Mrs. Knox's death came as a shock to her wide circle of friends. She had been ill with a cold for several days but there was nothing serious about her condition. Tuesday morning, however, Mrs. Knox took a turn for the worse and was taken to the hospital. A lifelong resident of Quincy, Mrs. Knox was born here, a daughter of Jacob and Margaret Kent. Her father was one of the best known employees of the CB&Q railroad, for which he was employed for more than half a century. He was the depot master at the Burlington station for 50 years. Her marriage to Dr. Knox took place in Chicago in June, 1902. Mrs. Knox was a member of the ladies' auxiliary of the American Legion, and attended St. Peter Catholic Church and the Catholic chapel at the Home. The Knox residence was at Eighth and Oak streets for many years. Later the family had an apartment at Hotel Newcomb, and when Dr. Knox was appointed a member of the Home medical staff, a position he held many years ago, the family occupied an apartment in the administration building.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ada M. Knox will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock in the Duker Funeral Home and at 9:00 o'clock in the chapel of Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. Internment in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends Invited. Friends may view the remains at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday until time of services
