Joseph Murphy Alcina
Joseph "Murphy" Alcina, 88, a resident of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Murphy was born February 13, 1935, the son of Evans and Eva Alcina.

Murphy's purpose in life was to serve God. He fought a good fight and he won the race.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Mary Alcina, Joseph Michael "Mike" Alcina Sr. and his wife Flavia Theriot Alcina, Joseph Murphy "Joe" Alcina and wife Carrie Black Alcina, Alisa Angela Alcina, and Allen Stevens Alcina and his wife Ragan Rodriguez Alcina; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one brother, John E. Alcina and wife Mary; two sisters Ann Gerarve and Frances Chauvin and husband Randy.

Murphy was preceded in death by his parents, Evans and Eva Alcina; wife, Pearl Ruth O'Neal Alcina; one son, David Alcina; one daughter, Eve Marie Alcina; two brothers Paul Alcina and Mack Alcina.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023, at Victory Tabernacle in Jeanerette with grandson, Minister Chris Hebert officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, April 10, 2023, at Victory Tabernacle from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. After services Murphy will be laid to rest in the Victory Tabernacle Cemetery.
