Daniel W. Mossing, age 48, of Metamora passed away November 13, 2007, at home surrounded by his family after a 2 1/2 years battle with cancer. He was born October 15, 1959, in Toledo to Larry and Donna Mossing. A 1978 graduate of St. John's High School, he began his career in the family business of Mossing Pools. At the age of 32, he returned to school to pursue his nursing degree. Dan was a burn and ICU nurse at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center for 10 years then most recently was employed at Northwest Ohio Dialysis Partners. A lover of the Christmas season, he was widely known as "Clark Griswold" for his monstrous display of Christmas lights. He enjoyed making Christmas crafts and for those of you who know him know that his Christmas trees are already up and decorated. Preceded in death by his mother, Donna, he is survived by his wife of 22-1/2 years, Linda; children, Travis, Rachel and Trent Mossing; father and step-mother, Larry and Dottie Mossing; mother and father-in-law, Donna and Jerome Murd; grandmother, Rose Buckenmeyer; sisters, Karen Pawlaczyk, Debbie (Larry) Gaster, Lynne (Jim) Petti, Marianne (T.J.) Mader and Julie (Chris) Newcombe; brothers, Dave (Kim), Doug (Barb) and Gregg Mossing; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Joe Damman) Cox and Cindy (Donald) Hudik; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., (west of Corey) on Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin Friday at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Assumption, Ohio. The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank all the people involved in the two benefits in Dan's honor, Linda's friends and co-workers at the Toledo Clinic and anyone else who has helped the last 2-1/2 years. Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website, www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
