Evelyn Marie Jensen, 92, of Blackfoot passed away April 6, 2023 at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 6, 1930 in Basalt, Idaho to Robert Dickins Lockyer and Laura Bell Fowler. She grew up in Kimball, Idaho.
On October 21, 1948 Evelyn married Rulon Thain Jensen. They lived in Jackson, Wyoming where Thain worked on the ranch and Evelyn cooked for the crew -sour dough hot cakes every morning. She was a great cook and was asked to bring her homemade rolls to many get togethers. Evelyn also barrel raced at the Wilson Rodeo grounds. She enjoyed riding horses.
Thain and Evelyn eventually came back to Firth, Idaho to live in the house they had bought. Evelyn always had a large garden. She was involved in the Shelley Posse of Horse Riders and participated in the Pony Express Race. She also loved playing pool.
After Thain passed away she lived in Blackfoot then back to Firth Senior Apartments. In June 2022 she told her daughters she would like to move into the Willows in Blackfoot so she wouldn't be a burden to them. Evelyn loved living at the Willows and we would like to thank all the caregivers there for taking such good care of her.
Survivors include: children, Juanita (Ralph) Olsen, Toni (Jake-deceased) Lopez, Rulon Ted (Jenny) Jensen, brother, Gene Lockyer, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Charles, grandson, Terry, son in law, Jake, twin sister, Carol, brothers, Calvin and Richard.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Basalt Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Tuesday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W Oak Street, in Shelley.
