Melissa Leigh "Missy" McDermott, 58, of Berwyn, died at 11:30 p.m., on April 4, 2023, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Missy was born on December 3, 1964, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, the daughter of John Richard "Dick" and Marian Neerman McDermott.
Missy graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and University of Illinois - Springfield. She retired from the State of Illinois after 30 years of service on March 31, 2020. Missy's passions included being a super fan of the Fighting Illini sports teams, the Chicago White Sox, sports talk radio, 80s classic rock, backyard BBQs, a good dive bar, breakfast club, reality TV, long walks on the beach, tennis, and the Florida sun in the winter.
She will be truly missed by us all and will be forever in our hearts.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
