Huey was born May 25, 1928, and passed away August 22, 2022, at the age of 94.

He was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish and worked for many years as an inspector for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture.

He was a well-known and respected minister who pastored many churches throughout Vernon Parish for over 75 years. Brother Huey was a true pastor who was devoted to the care of his church members and would often say "It's time to get on the field". He spent many hours visiting the sick at home or in the hospital. Brother Huey was a prayer warrior whose heart-felt prayers always seemed to reach the throne of God. Even though Flactor Baptist Church was the last church that he pastored, he reached many more people through his ministry on Facebook.

Huey was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Haymon; parents, Lonnie Haymon and Earnestine McKee Haymon; brothers, Elijah, Noah, Allen, Floyd, Harvey, Marvis, Oscar, Arthur, and Albert Haymon, and sisters, Gracie Herring and Lela Herrington.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Donald Ray Haymon and wife Christa of Anacoco, LA; daughter, Christine Haymon Prewitt and husband Roger of Natchitoches, LA; grandchildren, Brad Prewitt and wife Dana, Dustin Haymon and wife Jessica, and Tye Haymon and wife Haley; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Alexis, Tori, Dean, Desiree, and Kylie; great-great-grandchildren, Tatum, Scout, and Lyna; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brad Prewitt, Tye Haymon, Dustin Haymon, Taylor Israel, Dewayne Perkins, and J.D. Haymon. Honorary pallbearers will be Tinker Hillman, Donnie Herrington, J.E. Haymon, Larry Goodwin, Ronnie Herrington, Larry Burns, Allen Glaspie, Gene Haymon, Elton Herring, Charles Haymon, Dale Lambright, Terry Lambright, Kevin Lambright, Jordan Harris, Jerry Inman, Jon Haymon, Johnny Rhodes, Cullen Dixon, Coy Dell Jackson, Tyler Megason, and Dale Hardwick.
