David I. Rice, for many years proprietor of the National Hotel, in Duncannon, died at his home in Conewago, last Thursday morning.

The deceased was a son of Associate Judge John Rice and Margaret (Ickes) Rice, both of whom died many years ago. He was a brother of Oliver Rice, of near this place, and of Mrs. Catharine Aldrich, of Philadelphia. He is also survived by several daughters. Mr. Rice was a genial, intelligent man and had many warm friends who learned of his death with deep regret.
