Earnest (Jim) Allen Butler, age 88 years, 11 days old, died at home in Spring Hill, Kan., on Monday, March 10, 2008. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe, Kan. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Oak Lawn Cemetery. He was a decorated WWII veteran in the US Coast Guard. He was in the Boy Scouts of American with the KCMO district as a Boy Scout Leader with his three sons. He was also a member of the Mic-O-Say Tribe. He loved to square dance, work his farm, and loved to work in his garden. He is survived by wife, Bettie, of 59 years; son, Robert (Connie) Butler of Kearney, Mo.; daughter, JoAnna Lichtenberg of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; son, James (Carol) Butler of Spring Hill; daughter-in-law, Debra Kinsey of Cleveland, Mo.; sister, Irene Rollins of Lawton, Okla.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four nieces and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Laura Butler; son, Allen Lee Butler; and son-in-law, James Lichtenberg.
