Linda L. Walters, 80, of Rochester, Ind. passed at 9:12 am, Friday, April 7, 2023 at Wynnfield Crossing, of Rochester, Ind.
Linda was born on Aug. 12, 1942 in Rochester, Ind. to the late Robert and Valma (Newcomer) Butt. She was married to Herschel W. Walters, he preceded her in death in Aug. of 1978. Then on July 18, 1980 in Athens, Ind. she married Lloyd E. Walters, he survives.
She was a 1960 graduate of Rochester High School. She was a legal secretary for Douglas Morton. When Mr. Morton became the Fulton County Circuit Court Judge, she was his secretary and bailiff. She served for over 30 years.
Linda attended the Grace United Methodist Church of Rochester and was a member of the Rochester Christian Church. She volunteered at the Fulton County RSVP for many years. She, and her husband Lloyd, enjoyed bus trips to many places and sporting around in their Ford Mustang. She loved shopping and knitting, and was part of a knitting group. Her talents also included making dolls and sewing clothes for American Girl dolls.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd Walters of Rochester; daughters Diane Anspach of Logansport, Brenda Downs of Rochester, Natalie and husband Dr. Francisco Negreros of Ava Maria, Florida,; son Perry Walters of Westfield, Ind. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren Erica Anspach-Will, Grant Downs, Latecea Negreros, Drake Downs, Adriann Negreros, Evan Downs, and Journee Walters. She was double blessed with 3 great grandchildren Lucy and Michah Downs and Henry Will.
She was also survived by her brother Richard Butt of Shreveport, Louisiana. She will be truly missed by her beloved Yorkie Ivee.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herschel, and son-in-law Jimmy Downs.
