Burial was in Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee.
Mrs. Schmidt had been a resident of Elgin for more than 60 years and was a real estate agent in the Elgin area for five years before retiring. She married Albert F. Schmidt on April 5, 1941. Ruth was active with the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Post 57 and VFW Post #1307 in Elgin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. Schmidt on June 4, 2001; sisters, Mary Ann Stewart on September 18, 1992, Dorothy Hobbs on January 10, 1992 and Helen Schmidt on November 5, 1998; and her brothers, James, George on February 25, 1974, and Owen Allison on November 19, 1970,
