This is in memory of my nephew.He was born to Jorge Luis Ramirez and Judy Cartagena Christie.He was their only child together and the youngest for both.He was baby brother to Margaret and George Ramirez,and Milagrosa Ruth Christie.He joined the family on July 17th,1980 at the old Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City,N.J.By that afternoon all the grandparents were at the nursery window doting over their new grandchild.the grandmothers were busy giving childcare tips and the parents just nodded. He lived in Jersey City for several years until the family moved to Pennsylvania in the late 80's. This was the last time I saw my nephew.
We all recently found each other and through another nephew I learned he was battling lukimia(not sure of the spelling).I was able to call him at the hospital and briefly speak with him.Although he wasn't feeling well,we did speak for a while.I didn't think this would be the last time I'd hear his voice.My nephew lost his battle on Monday,September 27th,2010.Even though he is no longer with us,he's still here.
