Joan Arlene Abbott, 80, of 73450 Pine Valley, Dr, Thousand Palms, CA, died at 5:58 AM on February 6, 2023 at home.

She was born on September 17, 1942 in Carroll County, IN, the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Archibald) Sneathen. Her marriage was to David A. Abbott in Delphi on Sept 17, 1960 and he preceded her in death on April 23, 2001.

Joan was a Special Education teacher at Delphi High School, Veal Barn proprietor and owner of D&J Antiques in Silver Lake, IN. A 1960 graduate of Delphi High School, she enjoyed antiquing, flea markets, garage sales, mushroom hunting and spending time with her grandchildren. Joan dearly loved her husband and family.

Surviving are two children; two sisters; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Jeff; a grandson; and a brother.

Joan's committal service will be held at Ever Rest Memorial Park in Logansport, IN on May 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM. A celebration of life service will be held in Delphi, IN on May 20, 2023 at the Wabash & Erie Canal Center, 1030 N. Washington St., Delphi, IN 46923 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
