Afton Petty (Stratford) Caine, 100 years old, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023. Afton was born in Ogden, Utah, daughter of Horace Haines "Bud" and Berneice Stratford. She married John Thomas Caine IV. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah Temple. Afton graduated from Ogden High School Class of 1940. She attended Weber State College and Hennefer Business College.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities on a Ward and Stake level.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Daniel) Maynard, son Paul (Barbara) Caine, daughter-in-law Sally Caine, nine grandchildren; Jennilyn (Bret) Ryver, John (Tiffany) Caine, Nicholas (Amanda) Caine, Ashlee Ito, Logan Caine, Lindsey (Aaron) Bodell, Alicia Pierson, Chase Pierson, Teah (Alejandro) Florez, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special cousins, David Deis, Barbara Farr, Dayna Farr and Family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Joyce Stratford, son John Caine, grandson Ray Pierson, grand babies Michael and Amy Caine, and grand son-in-law Tom Sneddon.

Friends may visit with family Thursday February 16, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.

Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
