Berta Marie Wakham, 91, of Drew died Tuesday, March 10, 2008, at the Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility in Ruleville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Boone-Card Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow at the Moorhead Cemetery.
Wakham was a native of Alabama and was a longtime resident of Sunflower County, where she was a L.P.N. for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren C. Wakham and
son, Dr. J.D. Wakham of Johnson City, Tenn.
Survivors include, four sons, Eugene Wakham of Rockwood, Tenn., Billy Wakham of Memphis, Tenn., Dr. L.C. Wakham of Victoria, Texas, Sidney Wakham of Drew; a sister, Laura Mae Haris of New Albany; two stepsisters, Helen Byde and Ann Hall, both of Birmingham, Ala.; a stepbrother, Alvis Alexander of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
