Note: While his obituary says that he was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, family info indicates that he was born in Jones County, North Carolina.

Well Known Citizen Passed
Away at 7:30. Funeral
To Be Held Tuesday

X. M. Brock, age 75, Confederate veteran and well known throughout Craven and adjoining counties, died this morning at 7:30 o’clock.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock from Christ church. Rev. MacKinnon officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Grove cemetery.

Mr. Brock was born in Lenoir county but had been a resident of New Bern for many years. He enjoyed the friendship and esteem of all who knew him and there is genuine mourning on the part of his many friends over his death.

Daughters Confederacy to Meet

The Daughters of the Confederacy will please meet at 10:45 at Christ church tomorrow morning to attend the funeral of X. M. Brock.
