He was born Sept. 1, 1931 in Ford City to Gustave H. and Marcella Marie (Tomer) Frerotte.
Mr. Frerotte was employed at the former Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries, Ford City for 42 years.
An Army veteran, he held the rank of sergeant, during the Korean War.
He was a lifelong member of the former St. Mary�s Roman Catholic Church, Ford City.
He was a member of the Eagles.
An avid gardener, he enjoyed sports, woodworking, baking and collecting sports cards.
He was a lifelong resident of his community.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Patricia J. (Dietz) Frerotte, whom he married Oct. 12, 1963; two sons, Jay Frerotte and wife Susan of Wexford and Gus Frerotte Jr. and wife Ann of Denver, Colo.; and two daughters, Angela Rabinovitz and husband Bernard of Allison Park and Denise Law and husband Jeffrey of Ford Cliff; nine grandchildren, Kasey, Robert and Rebecca Law; Stefanie and Adam Frerotte; Abigaile, Gustave Gunnar and Gabriel Frerotte and Jillian Rabinovitz; two brothers, Paul Frerotte of Kittanning and James Frerotte of Ford City; and one sister, Judy Peat of Ford City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Albert, George, Hubert, Lewis, Michael and Emil; and five sisters, Ursula Faith, Mary Smith, Joanne Radic, Margaret Lekavich and Margaret Ann Frerotte.
Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Mantini Funeral Home , Inc., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday and a Prayer Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Ford City with the Rev. James Vasil officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary�s Cemetery.
