HERMON - Kenneth I. Strout (KIS), 71, passed away on April 13, 2023 surrounded by family following a battle with cancer. Ken was born October 21, 1951 in Machias, ME, the son of Wilbur and Marie Strout.

Ken graduated from Calais High School in 1970. After graduation he married his high school sweetheart, Lynda Waller, and went on to spend the next 53 years at her side. Kenneth was a 44-year veteran of the railroad family following his dad's footsteps at Maine Central and retired from Montreal, Maine & Atlantic in 2014. He was an avid historian, genealogist and musician. He loved a good jam session with old friends and the guys from his high school band, Sunrise. While he never did sound just like Paul, he could recite the words of every Beatles song without error. His perfect day was a trip down east on 4-wheelers with the boys. Quite likely, the only hunter who never got a deer. Always exclaiming Wilbur's rifle jammed again. Yet, he was always happy to sit on the barrens every year anyway.

Ken was blessed to have a wife, children, grandchildren and countless friends who loved him beyond reproach. He was an amazing husband, father and friend. Ken and Lynda's love for one another survived the test of time and stands as a powerful example for their family and friends to emulate.

Ken is survived by his wife Lynda; son Jason and wife, Margarite; son Jared and wife, Megan; grandchildren KC, Bethany, Nataleigh and Amanda. Ken was further blessed to have a loving sister, Jeannie, younger brother Wilbur "Skipper," sister-in-law Debbie and niece Shanna. Ken was predeceased by his nephew Wilbur Strout III (WES).

The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and memories with light refreshments from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Calvary Apostolic Church, 24 Crosby Way, Hampden, ME 04444.
