Emily Plsek Abel Kostroun, 87 of Cypress and formerly of Milam County, died Saturday, April 24 at her residence. Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow At the Old Marak Cemetery in Marak. Family visitation will be held Monday from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
Ms. Kostroun was born July 15, 1916 in the Marak community of Milam County to Joseph Felix and Mary Ann (Kostroun) Plsek. She married Henry Carl Abel in 1936 and he preceded her in death. In 1997, she married Joe Kostroun. She retired from JC Penny. She is preceded in death by son, Carl Henry Abel, 2 brothers, Joseph John Plsek and William Joe Plsek, and two sisters, Mary Reznicek and Agnes Strelsky.
Survivors include: daughters Geraldine Lynch and husband Wesley of Waller, and Johnnie Sue Strelsky and husband Joe of Cypress; grandsons Robert Burnett and wife Jennifer of Cypress, and Joey Strelsky and wife Debbie of San Leon; great grandson Robert Edsel Burnett III of Cypress; and brother Johnny Antone Plsek of Temple.
